Gabriel Winter - September 10 2020 - We Got Some Canes Over Here

Miami Hurricanes football a proud tradition for every person who has an emotional investment into the University of Miami and Florida sports. It's finally back!

It's been a long and rocky year for sports filled with cancelations and doubt about wether or not there will even be sports. This left many including myself with a hole in their heart where sports belong. The University of Miami has a special place in the Winter family and when there is a game on you know that we are either in the stands watching with the season tickets we have owned for two decades or on the couch fixated on the tv screaming to the point where our voices don't exist anymore.

Finally the game starts and another Miami Hurricanes season begins. Miami Hurricanes vs. UAB. D'eriq King is the new quarterback who transferred from Houston to the University of Miami and is currently a senior. Expectations were not very high considering that we already have Nekoshi Perry and Tate Martel (even though they say he is a wide receiver but he should play quarterback) if needed. When the game began there was no looking back. The hurricanes came out running and I mean running the entire game the Hurricanes had almost 400 rushing yards which has not been seen since 2014. But what about D'eriq King and the throwing game? Let's just say that those rushing yards didn't exactly come from running backs. D'eriq King on top of throwing for 141 yards and a touchdown also ran for a significant amount of yards and a touchdown. He is basically a running back that has a great arm. Who needs to do the stupid scared quarterback slide? D'eriq King doesn't care about his well being but the teams instead and has the kahones to jump head first multiple times for those extra yards one leading to a rushing touchdown hurdling over a defensive lineman. Is this the year of the canes? Let's just say that Clemson should be wetting their pants and circling the day in their calendar.
