As the weeks went by, I got antsier and antsier. I wanted to get out of the house, and go somewhere. But where? After multiple laps around the house - we've all walked aimlessly around our house at this point - I went into the garage and spotted my bike. And queue daily bike rides with my brother Josh, around the neighborhood, and then rides around the surrounding neighborhoods and parks, and then watching YouTube videos of mountain and bmx bikers. All this inspired us to learn how to wheelie (which I'm still working on), endo, jump up curbs, ride with no hands, and jump off little ramps in the sidewalk (more tricks coming soon). It has been really fun. We also started going to bike trails, which are a lot harder and more fun than you’d expect. Jumping over roots, weaving around sharp turns, speeding through trees, and getting in the air is really fun - and tiring. Below is a gif of me getting air on a jump - not because I want to brag, of course, it's just so you can see what I’m talking about 😉.
Side note, did you know Rabbi Plotkin is really good at riding these trails!? Me neither, we bumped into him in the parking lot. He focuses on speed and technical riding, I get distracted by the jumps, to say the least.
Anyways, my friends know where this is going... My brother and I built a small ramp after collecting wood on a Thursday night (the trash gets taken on Fridays) and about a month after jumping off it, my brother 'sent it' a little too hard and broke his wrist - forcing him off the bike for 8 longgggg weeks. It was really sad, and only recently has he gotten back onto the bike. Hopefully he’ll be back on the trail soon.
Before the pandemic, I hadn’t biked in years - so if anything good has come out of this mess it's that I got a new hobby :/
I would 100% *highly* recommend biking and and jumping off ramps - it feels like you’re flying. Enough of me talking, put in the comments what new hobbies you discovered during the pandemic - also like and subscribe to get an update on Josh. Peace.

DeleteWow, I wonder who found those trails... hmmmmmm. (Spoiler Alert) It was me. While the jump is great and all, I really appreciate Zach sitting on the sand in the background, it really adds to the aesthetic of the shot. I'll see you on the trails tomorrow!
