Watching Christmas
Movies in October
Stop watching Halloween movies for just a sec
Okay, so I know Halloween is right around the corner, but every year I always spend October watching Halloween movies. Call it a personal traditional, if you will, but I’m just tired of watching the same movies over and over again. I’ve seen Coraline, Monster House, Twitches, Franekweenie, Goosebumps, Hocus Pocus, and so many other movies just so many times and I’m getting a little bored. Well, maybe not Hocus Pocus, she’s too good for that, but anyways, I’ve been watching a ton of Christmas movies lately.
Last night I watched Klaus which is one of THE best Christmas movies, if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s on Netflix, but anyway, I ended up wrapping myself in blankets and drinking hot chocolate, ignoring all my homework for the night just to watch. It was really stress relieving and Christmas movies are almost always “feel good” films, so my brain just felt really at ease.
I’ve even started forcing my family to join me. My brother’s fiancĂ©e was dying my hair the other day and I forced her to sit through The Nightmare Before Christmas (which is technically a Halloween movie too, but shut up it’s my favorite movie) and The Grinch. Honestly? It’s been super refreshing and who knows? Maybe in December I’ll watch Halloween movies, but Christmas movies just hit differently.
Bella’s List of Christmas Movies You Should Watch Because I Make The Best Lists
Klaus
A Charlie Brown Christmas
The Grinch (either version, both are great)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Rise of the Guardians (sort of an Easter(?) movie, but Jack Frost is there so it counts)
Edward Scissorhands
Gremlins
Home Alone
Krampus
Tokyo Godfathers (you’ve probably never heard of this but it’s a great movie!!)
(Get out of here with those sappy romance Christmas movies. Nobody wants that.)
What’s your favorite Christmas/Halloween movie?

YOO RISE OF THE GUARDIANS!!! You just unlocked a memory I didn't even know I had! But, for real, that is hands down one of the most underrated Christmas movies ever. The Charlie Brown one is valid too, but I haven't seen any others on that list. When it's Christmas movie time for me, maybe I'll try one of these!
