Gaya Avidor Week 5 - When Will I Travel Again??

 This week I’m choosing to write about my feelings towards not being able to travel at the moment. Obviously, due to Covid-19 I haven’t been able to travel since March. When this whole situation started out, I was not expecting it to go on for this long. I was still looking forward to spending my summer in Israel and visiting Greece with my family. Clearly, this did not happen and it’s been bugging me for a long time now. The reason I’m so upset about this is because nearly all of my family lives in Israel and it has now been a year since I’ve last seen them. The traveling my family does over the summer is always something I look forward to throughout the school year. But, this summer just felt like one everlasting day. Each day was the same, and nothing became exciting anymore. I’m pretty sure that the most exciting thing to happen this summer might have been the reopening of restaurants… I miss being able to visit places I haven’t been to before and learning about other cultures by experiencing their country. Traveling has always been a big part of my life, and something that my family cherishes because we do it together. The situation in Israel, especially, has only been getting worse and I’m worried that we won’t be able to fly there for a while. I guess all we can do is hope that soon this virus will be contained and that an efficient vaccine will be put out for the public. I honestly feel that the traveling part of my year is missing, and I truly can’t wait to be able to hop on a plane right out of here soon.
