Liann Rozenberg Week 8 - At Home Routine

Being home comes with the need to be independent. At first, my routine was very disorganized. I felt like I wasn’t getting things done when I had plenty that needed to be done and the time to do them. I started keeping an agenda, which definitely helps. Now I am more organized and I am motivated to complete my school work and college applications.
However, I am always tired. I think it’s the effect of being home all day and not really going out during the school week. No matter how much I sleep, I am tired. So I started being more active: running, biking, tennis, spikeball, and even basketball. I really enjoy being outside, more than I thought I would.
Next week I signed up to go back to school. The reason I stayed home was that I have really long periods of breaks between my classes. Yes, I can do homework in between but there’s a limit to how much I can do without my mind exploding. That way, being home I’m able to take a nap, get coffee, or cook.
Sometimes, my brother stays home if he doesn’t feel well. I love him, but he’s difficult. He doesn’t listen to me and we have different schedules. He always wants me to make him food which is funny because I am pretty bad at making everything except for toast.
Overall, this semester has been really weird. I am studying like crazy for my SAT and hard at work on my college applications. The school week is busy and tiring, but the weekends are always a good time to let out stress.
Sometimes I wonder how hard it’s going be to get back to an actual normal routine, with five days a week at school. I guess we’ll all have to get back to it eventually because that’s how we live life.

How do you feel about your current routine?

  1. I'm so glad that the time learning from home has helped you to become more organized with your time. That is such an important skill for college, and so many kids go away without that ability. It will serve you well. I'm glad you're getting out and getting exercise :)

  2. That's so true. Being at home makes me question what life will feel like when everything hopefully goes back normal. COVID has definitely taught me how to manage my time better too, which is good for college in the coming years.

  3. Sometimes I wonder how easily people are going to adjust back to how things were before. How many people will really just snap back to normal once the pandemic fades? Maybe everyone will have subconsciously become just a bit more of a shut in.
