I believe that an important aspect of teen's having good mental health is making sure that they are properly rested. Rest can come in many different forms. Taking naps and meditating are very helpful ways to calm down. Its very easy to be stressed out due to the climate of the world that we currently live in. As a result, I think that it is imperative to make sure stress does not become too crippling.
Something that I always do, that may not be considered a form of rest, is taking deep breathes before stressful scenarios. Taking a moment to just breathe and cool the body does wonders for your moods and the way you treat other people. Likewise, Getting outside and enjoying fresh out helps me relax. Just listening to some music and not caring about the world around me is something that I try to do as often as possible.
If anyone feels like they need a way to avoid stress and calm down, I highly recommend utilizing some of the tactics I described.
meditation!!! I dont do it too often, but in situations where I was really upset, I've found that it is SOOO helpful to just breathe and do a "body scan" which is just paying attention to each part of the body individually... it really helps being you to the present moment. Sometimes I dont want to do meditation because it is really hard to juts stop what you are doing to do NOTHING for a little while, but after I do it, I always feel so much better so its worth it
