Well when I finally remembered to write this blog, I had planned on writing about Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s first start of his career. Well, he didn’t play to many fans’ expectations yet the Miami Dolphins still dominated the Los Angeles Rams.
The Dolphins started off weak. Tua fumbled his second time touching the ball which turned into a 7-0 lead for the Rams, but then the Dolphins defense were able to do the same to Jared Goff. Tua threw his first touchdown to Devante Parker on a throw that couldn’t be more accurate if he tried, evening the game up at 7-7.
This is when the Dolphins defense took over. The team turned the Rams over four times, one of them going for a 93 yard touchdown. Shortly after that big play, the speedy Jakeem Grant returned a punt for an 88 yard touchdown. The defense also got a fumble recovery basically on the goalline which was easy for Myles Gaskins to punch it in for the score. At the half, the fins were up 28-10.
The second half was dominated by great coaching. Both the offense and defense had one job each. The offense just had to run the clock out, something they had done successfully four weeks ago in Jacksonville. The defense just had to prevent the Rams scoring, which they did, only allowing one score. The final score was 28-17, dolphins now have a winning record for the first time in the past two years.
I can’t wait to see Tua be forced to compete late into the game next week when the Dolphins travel to Arizona to play (and hopefully beat) the Cardinals.

I don't think this game really showed what Tua can or can't do. The game script wasn't in his favor. Hopefully, next game we will be able to see his talents more.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand all the hype around this Tua guy. He's a rookie QB but like, what's the big deal? Was his college performance amazing or something?
