I have a very important question that I have been debating for over seven months now. Is lemonade lemon flavored?
In my personal opinion, I believe that yes, lemonade is indeed lemon flavored. My argument is that lemonade isn’t a lemon, it tasted like lemon, thus it’s lemon flavored. It’s that simple. There are other things that go into making lemonade like sugar and thus it is not just lemon or not even lemon at all. It can be artificial flavoring that makes lemonade lemon flavored, just like you can have strawberry flavored lollipops.
I am very passionate about my stance and do not plan on changing it, I am in no place to give you the other side of the argument. My friend Avi is much more passionate about his side of the argument that lemonade is not lemon flavored. Here is a quote from him:

Would it be correct to say that pizza is cheese flavored? Or that it is tomato sauce flavored? Or does it simply contain cheese and tomato sauce. Another perfect example is a smoothie. Would a smoothie containing banana strawberry and ice would it be banana, strawberry or ice flavored? No, it is just made of banana, strawberry and ice. In the simplest form, is water water or is water water flavored? In the most elementary manner, to even propose that a homemade lemonade is lemon flavored is absolutely asinine and ludicrous. Thank you for your time.”
Now that you know both sides, let me know… Is lemonade lemon flavored or not?
Here is my take. When lemonade is natural and is made from real lemon, it is not lemon flavored. However, I agree with you that when it is not real lemon it is lemon flavored.
ReplyDeleteI am on your side--I don't plan on changing my opinion, and I strongly believe that lemonade is lemon flavored. Even after reading the other side's argument, I don't fully see how it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI would say lemonade is sugar flavored. As a the sugar is an additive that makes a simple lemon turn into lemonade. I have never thought about this but you do make a great argument. A sugar typically is added to simple fruits to create a fruit drink like apple juice, orange juice and of course as discussed Lemonade.
ReplyDeleteLemonade can be considered lemon flavored if orange juice is considered orange flavor, or apple juice considered apple flavor. Lemon flavorings in candy have additives, similar to the lemonade itself. It's important to consider that both lemonade and lemon juice are lemon flavored, although one tastes much more strongly of lemon. So yes, lemonade is lemon flavored. To disagree would be to consider apple juice not apple flavored and I have a serious problem with that....
ReplyDeleteI agree, lemonade that is from real lemons is lemon flavored but if you get lemonade from a bottle that is only 1 % juice then it is not lemon flavored.
