Disclaimer: This blog post is not meant as a rant, it is more just me saying what's probably on a lot of people in our grades mind
We're now officially second semester seniors. The main focus on all of our minds is the future. We're currently considering things such as our future schools, spending our last few months with our family and friends before we go away, and how we're going to survive in the craziness of our current world. The tough parts of our high school careers should be behind us. We've all taken standardized tests, AP exams, completed 7.5 semesters of work, and have applied to colleges. This all being said, our last semester has not started off as easy as i'm sure any of us would have liked.
Teachers aren't going particularly easy on us as far as work goes. I thought that it was very common for the second semester of your senior year to be the time where you lay back and just enjoy the memories you had made in the three years of high school that took place beforehand. Instead, I feel as if we've been overwhelmed with work. Of course I don't think this is an intentional thing that teachers have decided to do as they do want the best for their students, but I do think when every single teacher says that they will "go easy on us this semester with work," the one to two assignments that they assign add up when the same thing happens in each class.
We only have so much time left in high school. Before we know it, we are going to be released into the real world. I truly do hope that teachers realize how much work they have been assigning and they decide that it honestly may not be so relevant in a time that is supposed to be fun.

I totally agree with you. This whole week my dad wanted to do something with me after school and I told him I had a ton of homework. He said his second semester of senior year was way more laid back. We finish very soon, so I'm not complaining, but I agree that it should be less as our teachers did say the would go easier on us.
