A new strange pattern - Josh Rosenblatt Week 21

I need someone to explain why this happens to me.  Some of you know that I don’t sleep very much, which isn’t good at all, but I survive.  I really don’t fall asleep until 2am, recently it’s been earlier, but still never before midnight.  Yet, I still manage to wake up before 7am whenever I don’t have school.  We’ve had off this past Thursday and Friday, and both days I was up at 6:15 in the morning.  Now, what doesn’t make sense to me is that on school days, I wake up at the very last moment possible and have overslept the first period multiple times this semester.  I’ve never had to use an alarm in my life, yet recently I’ve needed to.  Oh, and by the way, waking up before 7am has always been the norm for me.

I really don’t know why I stay asleep only on school days.  Maybe there is something in my brain telling me that if I keep sleeping, I don’t have to go to school.  That would be senioritis at its finest, but I don’t think that’s how it works.  I always sleep with the same conditions, no light, all windows covered by blinds, door shut, no noises.  I also can never remember my dreams.  I know that I do dream, but I can never remember what they are and forget about it as soon as I wake up.  One last thing about me, when I wake up, there’s no going back to sleep for me.  This is super unfortunate when I wake up in the middle of the night, but again, I survive.  Hopefully there’s some sleep pattern expert out there that can tell me what’s going on because I’m so confused.
