Chaya Brenner week 8 - Among Us

Let’s be honest, if you haven’t heard of Among Us you must be living under a rock. This game has taken over my life, I feel like everywhere I go all I see are memes for the game or gameplay videos or people are talking about it. I get it, it’s a super fun game! My friends and I started playing together early in the summer a couple of months before the game really took off. So I guess you could say we started playing before it was cool.

The game is objectively kind of like mafia, the goal is to find out who the impostors are and stop them from killing crewmates. There are two ways for crewmates to win, by finishing all their tasks, which are like little missions you do around the map, or by voting out all the impostors. As the impostor, your goal is to kill crewmates and not get caught doing it. It’s a little more complicated than that but I want to talk about my feelings on the game, not teach you how to play.

I think it’s a great game, it’s a lot of fun to play with friends on discord and completely ignore the actual rules. Though I hate being the impostor. A bunch of people quit the game if they don’t get impostor, but I really hate it. I feel so gross when I lie about killing people. And if I’m on a call with people I try to make it painfully obvious that it’s me so we can finish the round as quickly as possible and I can be a crewmate again.

Sorry, I feel like this wasn’t a good blog post. Anyway, have you played Among Us yet?Among Us: Two glitches that allegedly let users become an 'Imposter' every game

  1. I love Among Us. I just started playing with all of my BBYO friends and it is so much fun even though I am not the best at it. That is super cool that you discovered it so long ago I had no idea that this game has been around that long. Even politicians have been playing Among Us.

  2. I love Among Us...it's so fun! I play for hours and lose track of time. I'm addicted, but I feel like I will be over it in a month just like what happens with most things that are popular.

  3. Ahh I miss playing Among Us with everyone :( We need to get another game going this weekend. But unlike you, I love being imposter. Maybe it suits me more than it suits you... But in any case, I love the premise of lying and playing the blame-game. Winning can be so satisfying, but also super frustrating if you don't. I do think it's funny that Mattan, Adam, and Teig urged us to get it a while back and we all assumed harmless fun an dthen the game just totally blew up. Who would've thought?
(also text me because I have among us fan-lore for you)

  4. My daughters both play Among Us. Olivia resisted for ages, but her friends talked her into it. Now, when she's let out of class a few minutes early, she squeezes in a quick game before the next class. She is obsessed! I don't play, because I don't want to get hooked. But I do send my kids Among Us memes.

  5. I am addicted! I usually don't know what to even do when I'm the imposter, but it's pretty funny. My friends and I do it on a group face time call which is hilarious.
