I have a question that I need answers for, why do people buy white chairs for their houses. Think about it we sit on chairs everyday most of the day and sometimes we are dirty and spill things or accidentally drag in mud. So why do we have white furniture in our house if we don't want it to get dirty. I fish pretty often and get dirty all of the time. We have a white couch in my living room and I am so afraid to touch it in fear of making it dirty that I will avoid it by 3 feet just in case I accidentally get dirt on it somehow from 3 feet away. I can't come up with any explanations other than we just love white things so much that we don't care about our comfort and enjoyment in our own homes.

That is an interesting take that I never thought of. White matches a lot of things and looks good in our houses. But yah I don't know if its worth worrying over it getting dirty.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a very valid point. I personally think white chairs are chosen because they are aesthetically pleasing especially for contemporary style now a days. I have multiple white chairs in my home, though I do not have any pets, so the white chairs often remain very clean.
ReplyDeleteI think white is such an aesthetic on its own (my whole room is white). Even with my white clothes or items, I get scared to touch them or ruin them.
