Bella Furst Week 10 | College & School Stress

College & School Stress

Is anyone else super blinded by stress lately? I have so many documents for college that need to be submitted and still many more applications to work through and in turn, I’ve been crazy stressed lately. I forget assignments sometimes (peep this article), skip meals, and have been losing a ton of sleep. I can’t wait for the first semester senior year to end because there’s so much stuff I can’t wait to be done with.

Maybe it’s just the college work mushing with the schoolwork, but man there’s so much work this year. Don’t want to call out any Judaics teachers, but there’s just so many assignments to constantly work on and get through and I hardly have time for hobbies. I’m seriously hoping maybe the workload lightens up throughout the year. But, it’s a process! I’ve got this, we’ve all got this. I usually write longer articles, but I’m just so drained lately.

How are you feeling this semester?

  1. Teachers will say "these are stressful times, and the last thing I want to do is add to your stress" and then assign a project alongside whatever their daily assignments. Even the week where they cut down on homework still felt like a normal week because it was just scrambling to catch up on stuff. Occasional breaks are nice, but they are not they are just a treatment, not a cure. The amount of work needs to be consistently lowered across the board. We sit in school for up to 7 hours a day, and then are expected to go home and do more work, and are expected to participate in extracurriculars. All too often, students are made to choose between cultivating hobbies and socializing or getting a healthy amount of sleep if they want to keep up with school.
