Well, it’s that time again where I am writing my blog post very last minute and find myself struggling to come up with an idea; it’s not like anything interesting happened to me this week. So, what did I do? I looked at the assignment and decided to take one of the ideas Mrs. Ho gave us. I chose “Would you rather do less work OR more work that you enjoy doing?”
Personally, I would much rather work on something that I enjoy with a lot more work than something with less work that I don't like. For example, I would much rather do a ling chemistry homework packet than write an English essay (sorry Mrs. Ho English just isn’t my subject) because I actually enjoy chemistry whereas I dread English (sorry again). Another example would be watching documentaries because let’s be honest for most of us, documentaries aren’t our first choice of entertainment. I would much rather watch some long documentary on maybe something that has to do with spycraft than some short one that has to do with some boring (boring to me) topic.
Additionally, maybe this has to do with my ADHD (I’m pretty sure it does), I really struggle to work on something that does not interest me, which is why I save the work I don't like for the last minute because I just can’t sit myself down and actually do it, but if it is last minute I don’ have a choice other than grudgingly doing it. However, if it’s a subject I enjoy, I have no problem doing it; I sometimes even want to do it (I know strange wanting to do homework).

I completely agree with you here. If I enjoy doing something, it doesn't feel like work, and I'd rather do more of that then less work that I absolutely despise.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you like chemistry what
ReplyDeleteI would also rather do more work on something that I enjoy like Marine Biology or Agriculture. Work that is not something we enjoy really does not help us in any way and therefore doing less work that is something we don't like is not something that I would choose.
ReplyDeleteI would also rather do more work in something that I love. I feel that if you don't do something you love, you will dread the work even if it's less.
