Boys soccer is back at RHS. While it has been a lot of fun to get back on the field, having so many games in a short amount of time has been very tiring. I don’t remember my legs ever being this sore. We are lucky that we are able to have a season though as we had been looking forward to playing in our senior year for a while now. The season may be shorter than usual, but I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts. When Trell organized the season his main concern was that we wouldn’t have enough players willing to play this season. However, the opposite has turned out to be true with 17 players on the roster, more than any other season since I have been in high school. Of course, not everyone can make it to every game, but having this many players allows us to have subs every game.
I was worried that my last soccer season in high school would be canceled due to COVID-19, but I am thankful that we have been able to play. The annual Donna Klein versus Yeshiva game will not be played this year, as Yeshiva is not playing competitively. It is very unfortunate, although, like I said before I’m just glad that we have games. I am excited for next week already as we have 2 more games. Is there any activity that you got to participate in during COVID-19 that you are thankful for?
I think it's really great that you are still able to play games. Many sacrifices have been made this past year and I have had to stop my activities such as volunteering in the hospital. I truly miss it and hopefully I can get back soon.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you guys! I wish that the girl's soccer team would have been able to compete against other teams but we did not have enough girls this year to form a team. It is such a strange year but I am glad you are able to compete in soccer. It adds some familiarity to this hectic year :)
ReplyDeleteI can fully imagine how tiring it is to have so many games back to back. That being said, with everything that has gone on this year i'm sure it is super fun to get back out there and play some sports.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Yeshiva is just afraid to play against us and used COVID as an excuse. You didn't hear it from me though...
