Sammy Hodes Week 16 - Playing Organized Sports Again

I hadn't played organize sports since this stupid pandemic started but about two weeks ago I finally started to play sports again at an organized level. I've been playing in a rec basketball league in Parkland - where I live. I have played in this same league since I was probably about 5 years old so I'm super glad that this is one of the only things that i've actually gotten to do in my senior year. With everything that has been taken away it is nice to actually have something work out.

Getting used to playing 5 on 5 basketball again has actually been a little strange. Throughout this pandemic i've been playing pickup basketball with friends, but full court 5 on 5 basketball is a completely different game. Staying in shape throughout this pandemic has really helped me not feel too lost during the games though.

All and all i've been having a great time and I'm hoping that the season gets to finish out with no COVID problems. Crazy that last year, when this pandemic started, I was in the middle of my season last year when everything got cancelled. Now I'm on a completely different team, yet playing the same sport.

  1. That is good that the league restarted. You better get league MVP now.

  2. I used to play West Boca Basketball and it was so much fun. Im happy that leagues are starting to restart and kids and adults are able to get back to normal life and normal sports.

  3. I feel that. The return of organized sports is like a reminder of what normalcy felt like pre-COVID. This league you're in sounds cool - how's your team doing?

  4. It's interesting how making something organized and formatted can completely change the experience of it, even when it operates on the same fundamental rules.
