So last week Dana and I decided to get our second piercing and cartilage piercing. Now some of you may be thinking “Amy don't you already have your second piercing?” Well, I did, but over the summer my earring went into my ear and I ended up in the ER. That was definitely the peak of my summer. So back to last week. We went to the piercing shop without our parents which we thought was fine because we had a notarized form, but then we were told that we needed to also have their ID with us. So after about 45 minutes we sorted that out and went on to pick out the jewelry. Dana ended up picking put a little lightning bolt for her cartilage, and I got a little cactus. The piercing process was not too bad; the cartilage was obviously the worst one and that one was first and then the two on the lobes.
Now fast forward a week and it still hurts. This past week the piercings have been healing. The first two days, I could not even sleep, lay, or touch my ear with the cartilage piercing. Then I was able to lay on it if I had a blanket kinda around my head so there wasn’t too much pressure on my ear, and after a few days, I began sleeping on it for small intervals of time. Currently, it still hurts at some moments; the worst is when my mask or something gets caught on or hits it, and when that happens I take a long moment to question all of my life decisions.

I hope you don't end up at the ER again!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Amy I'm so so jealous! I've always wanted a cartilage piercing. The cactus and the lightning bolt are adorable, such cute little earrings. I'm sorry that it hurts so bad, but at least it looks super cool!
ReplyDeleteI want to get mine pierced so bad! I'm scared it will hurt or cause unbalance.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the line "...my earring went into my ear and I ended up in the ER" my first thought was "Isn't that where it's supposed to be?" Anyway, earrings are neat, but I don't think I care about jewelry enough to puncture my frail mortal frame, glad you get enjoyment out of it though.
