I was recently driving down to Miami, and as I was cruising down the highway, I shifted over into the express lane on the left of I-95. I was making really great time, especially since the HOV lane allows drivers an extra 5 miles per hour on the speed limit. That was great, until a driver shifted into the express lane, right in front of me, but they had no intention of utilizing the “express” aspect of the lane. I’m pretty sure they changed lanes and actually SLOWED down. Safe to say, I was very aggravated for the duration of being stuck behind them.
Anyways, as I was stuck behind this car going maybe 65 MPH, I looked to my right at the flow of traffic. The slow cars on the right, the cars merging into and out of traffic near exits, the long haul trucks driving in the middle, and, of course, that one shmuck that’s swerving through traffic like it’s a Fast and Furious movie. Usually, that same driver will eventually cause an accident, which is the point of this article. What happens when super-highways are common across the nation? Like highways that have no speed limit, like in Germany, or highways that are all autonomous cars? Imagine how seamless and efficient transportation will be. I can’t wait for a time when that kind of transportation will be the norm, but until then, I guess I’ll stick to the express lanes.
That's gotta be on the top ten most aggravating things list, when someone cuts in front of you int express lane and goes slow. I usually can't stay mad for long in the car though as I know that an emotional driver is a dangerous driver. Anyways, if I get really pissed I'll out on some metal music.
ReplyDeleteI'm not such an aggressive driver--I would say I'm a pretty cautious driver--but I do like to go fast a lot of the time. That being said, I don't drive on the highway, but when someone cuts me off on the main road and then has the audacity to go slow it is the most annoying thing everrrr
