In Florida fog is a rare sight to see because it requires clouds to become close enough to the ground that it becomes hard for us to see in front of us. We are so lucky to have such great weather for most of the year and not have to deal with all the grey clouds and harsh fog because that is not how it is across the country.
I went to North Carolina in a town called Blowing Rock last weekend and let me just say that I have never seen fog like that in my entire life. We were driving up a mountain going to our lodge that we were staying in and as we were driving up this narrow and winding road we were consumed by such thick fog that the only thing we could see was the reflector lights on the road and about 2 feet in front of us.
You may think that this is just a rare occurrence but you would be wrong. Talking to the locals over the next few days we learned that, that is just something they live with every winter and that it is unsafe to drive at night. That means that the entire town of Blowing Rock closes down after sundown just because of the sheer danger that comes with fog and ice. The moral of this story is that we are so lucky to live in a place that is not affected daily by life threatening weather.
