Chaya Brenner - Week 22 - The Final Blog

It’s crazy to think how we’re basically done with high school. This year was draining and it always felt like there was so much work to be done. But now it’s just kind of over, there not much left except last-minute projects and presentations. High school is out forever starting next week (aside from graduation stuff). We also get to end so much earlier than most other senior classes have gotten to in the past!

I’m already trying to think of things to do to fill my newfound expanse of time. I got a sort of job working for my aunt and it’s kind of exciting because aside from babysitting I’ve never really had one. Maybe I’ll finally get my driver's license too! Who knows, the freedom is scary and exciting. It’s really insane to think about how when we started the first version of this project last year we thought it would only be temporary. Now we’re on our 22nd blogs of this year alone.

I don’t really know where I’m going with this. I guess the lesson I’ve learned is to enjoy everything while you can. High school, freedom, going out in public without being scared for your health, everything in life is only for a short while. We should be thankful for all that we have and get to have. Things can feel hard but the area we are lucky for the school we get to go to and the area we live in.

I hope everyone has the best time in college and does really well! Even if we didn’t talk much I’m glad we all got to meet each other.

What do you think you’ve learned this year?

  1. That's a great perspective and I completely agree. Even though it's been such a crazy year, it feels like it has gone by in the blink of an eye. And being thankful for the little things is so important too. Best of luck next year!

  2. Aww Chaya, reading this was bittersweet. I also can't believe that in a little while, we'll be high school graduates. I still feel 12. And yes! the best thing to do is just live and learn from the moment, enjoying it! Nothing lasts forever, so while we're here, it's best to make the most of our time spent :)

  3. This is so bittersweet; like I'm excited to not have school work anymore, but I will definitely miss the teachers and the people, but I am super excited to have the next few months to chill and have an amazing time with my friends before we all go to college.

  4. Was about to say "this is really bittersweet :(" and looked at the comments and realized I'm not the only one who thought that. But, I agree a ton. This year was so fast, and for what? It did this... for what? But in all seriousness, I'm so excited to finally be done with the high school workload and have a break for a little bit. Granted, the college workload is likely going to be 100x worse, but I will enjoy that break. Still can't believe we're graduating though... I still remember meeting you in the halls freshman year :(

Mattan Masri- Week 16: Animation is not a Genre

Film awards like the Oscars often have a “best-animated film” category, and this is dumb. It’s like having a “best live-action” award. It’...
