My nickname back in high school was Forgetful Faiga, mostly because Faiga is my name in Yiddish and I am extremely forgetful. I’m just kidding-- no one calls me that. I am forgetful, though. I think the fact that I am forgetful is possibly the worst trait that I have, besides the fact that I am always late. (Just like this blog!)
You might be thinking, “Forgetful Faiga, what prompted you to write this blog about the fact that you are forgetful?” Well, I have a very very good answer for you:
Basketball season ended in the beginning of FEBRUARY and I STILL haven’t turned in my basketball uniform. Every time I see Coach Trell, he always says “Forgetful Faiga, you are not graduating until you bring me that uniform!!” and then I say “I'll bring it tomorrow, don’t you worry!” I have resorted to putting reminders in my phone so that every time the clock strikes the hour, my phone goes “ERRRR ERRRR ERRRR BRING YOUR UNIFORM BRING YOUR UNIFORM ERRR ERRRR ERRRR” I also have it set so that every time I text Dana Levine (which is quite often), ANDDD every time I arrive at my house, I get the same reminder. The thing is… I start to get so accustomed to seeing that reminder on my phone all the time that I start to not even see that it is there! Soooo a month and a half later, tomorrow will be the day that I finally bring in my uniform! It will be a day that I will never forget. Why am I starting to tear up right now?
Anyway, forgetfulness is weird because it's not really a trait that you can just work on. How am I supposed to remember to not forget something when I am forgetful in the first place? And don’t even say I should tie a knot around my finger or something because I’ve literally tried that. If anyone has any tips on how I can start to remember things better, let me know in the comments!
