Dana Levine -- Week 22 -- A Year Since Quarantine...

Every day, I receive new snapchat memories from a year ago. I always said that once quarantine memories came up, I would be really depressed knowing that we have been in this for a year! But honestly, looking back, quarantine wasn’t so bad…

Anyway, this past week, I got so many memories from the last couple of times I hung out with friends before being locked in my house for months. This time last year, I barely knew what a mask was. It’s so crazy that it has been a year since quarantine. I look back at old texts and pictures and realize how stupid we were thinking it would end in a couple of weeks and that we would be able to see each other even if we were quarantining “from others.” Long story short, we had no idea what we were in for. This year feels like forever, but at the same time, it went by oddly quick--but also extremely slow at the same time.

My birthday was almost a year ago! I got a snapchat memory today that I wrote “bday tmr in quarantine”--I had no idea what that even meant. It feels like my birthday just happened, but yet, it’s back again...But, I’m not going to bring up my birthday, because that’s a sensitive subject right now @zoey.

It’s just so crazy to me how much changed in just a year. I am a firm believer that everything has its silver lining, and I feel like I found the silver lining in this crazy year. I got closer with friends, spent nice quality time with friends and family, and learned to appreciate the little things in life, because you really don’t know what crazy thing could take over your life tomorrow!
