What Your Favorite Candy Says About You

This is going to maybe be one of the more controversial posts you’ll see written by me (granted, you haven’t seen many posts written by my lazy, anxious butt this semester but not the point). However, like my chicken ranking blog post, I firmly stand by absolutely every opinion I state here and I will not back down from any of these opinions. If I offend you, maybe you just should’ve liked a better candy. This is Bella Judges You 2.0.

Let’s start off nice and simple:

Reese’s peanut butter cups. 

You- I like you. You’re a good egg. You’re kind of weird, but probably also pretty bold. You have good taste though, so I’d probably trust you not to rob me. But you also are probably the type of person who would smack a cockroach with a shoe, and I don’t have anything else to add to that.

Reese’s Pieces

Unlike Reese’s peanut butter cups, I have no respect for you. These taste like garbage and I wish they had never been made. They wanted to be M&Ms, but are more like sad skittles. Don’t breathe near me (post-COVID) if you like Reese’s Pieces, you weird psychopath. I bet you probably don't even mind wet socks...

Sour Patch Kids

You’re probably constantly on a sugar rush. I like that about you, though, because that’s a mood. But, these guys are delicious and I’ve eaten a 5 lb. bag in one sitting, so I’m qualified to state opinions on this one. You’re probably a little more on the insane side of the spectrum, but who’s normal these days? You’re probably also super indecisive and this has been your favorite candy since you were 11.

Nerds

I thought that people liking Nerds was a myth, but I saw my brother eating them the other day and almost cried. You’re the worst of the bunch and I despise you with every fiber of my being. People who like Nerds are the same people who I imagine would be drinking hot dog water because “California is in a drought!” You’re probably the type of person who calls people “crackhead” and “quirky” unironically, but also might be a goody two shoes. Nerds lovers, do not interact for my own sanity <3

Snickers

You definitely play a sport or your best friend is an athlete. You also have golden retriever energy and begged your mom for silly bandz in lower school because everyone had them. I feel like you’re also probably an extrovert or a people-pleaser, no in-between. Generally, Snickers lovers are dope though, so you pass my vibe check.

Anything Gummy

Starbursts, gummy bears/worms, lifesavers. Any of these. You’re 100% still a little kid at heart and probably have cried at least twice realizing that you start the “real world” next year. You’re probably super energetic and funny though! I think you’d be fun to hang out with, and you were definitely the kid who had a bouncy house or waterslide at their birthday party when they were 9.

Licorice

If it’s strawberry or cherry, yay! That stuff is delicious and you’re probably super chill. You don’t like drama, just like to vibe and take everything day-by-day. If you like black licorice, you’re probably crazy and were the kid that had Smencils when you were younger (don’t talk to me for my own personal safety).

Mr. Goodbar

You’re the best of the bunch. You’re the person people want to bring home to their parents because you’re incredibly lovable and charismatic.

Good candy taste = good people taste.

Warheads or Lemonheads or Toxic Waste (do they even still make that?)

You’re the guy who brags about how much spicy food you can eat and then chokes on a pepper seed. I’m not saying you’re annoying, but you probably played Fortnite freshman year.

Almond Joy/Mounds

You were told as a kid that you had “grown up tastebuds” and probably really like coconut. Like a lot. You’re also probably chill (Maybe you’re close friends with a red licorice lover), and enjoy travelling and seeing cool new things.

Mike and Ikes

You probably love really bad sci fi movies from the 80s and Nintendo video games. You’re probably a really lively, colorful person and don’t wear a lot of black or white colors. I also wouldn’t doubt that your mom is your best friend.

Lollipops 

I like ‘em, too, but why are they your favorite? You’re probably a pretty neurotypical person who enjoys taking Buzzfeed quizzes and obsessed over Harry Potter at some point in your life.

Chocolate Japanese Snacks (Pocky, Chocorooms, Hello Panda, etc.)

At some point in your life you were an anime nerd and had an anime girl profile picture on discord. But, you're probably really sweet and people generally like you a lot. I associate you with bunnies.

York Peppermint Patties/Junior Mints

No.

(dude and I like mint chocolate ice cream)

Pixy Stix

You 100% accidentally inhaled one of these as a kid and that’s probably why you still like them. Your personality is probably the worst combination of easily distracted and hyperactive, but I wouldn’t mind sharing a 10 piece McNugget with you and listening to you talk about why you think microwaves will take over the world or whatever.

Skittles

Ew. I don’t hate Skittles but like… ew. You probably like white bread.

Hershey’s Chocolate Bar

You’re pretty laid back, pretty Type B. Life isn’t complicated for you and you’re pretty chill about most things.

Hershey’s Chocolate Bar WITH ALMONDS

Best person. I will literally marry you. You are the best person in so many peoples’ lives and definitely make people laugh with bad puns. You’re the friend people call first. You were the kid in elementary school who let the other kids go on the swings first. You are elite.

KitKat

You're probably a liberal arts person and aren't that good at math or science. You also probably get stressed a lot and want to throw a glass cup at a wall.

Smarties

You probably don’t think matzah tastes “that bad” and might even be a picky eater. You definitely eat 10 of these at once and then can’t sleep that night.

Candy Corn

You’re probably super misjudged by a lot of people, but are really fun and interesting once people get to know you. Halloween is definitely your favorite holiday and you dress up every year and will continue to do that even when you’re literally 40.
